Addressing the Challenges of Combination Products: Moving to Integrated Interoperable Solutions

0
0

Medical device products, no matter how well designed, can only do so much to address the clinical problems that are seen today. In order to more effectively address clinical problems in the future from a cost, quality and time-to-market perspective, many medical devices will need to be used in conjunction with pharmaceutical and biologic products to create “combination products.” Today these combination products are a specific class of FDA-regulated medical products. Our special full-day seminar will feature Dr. Andrew Von Eschenbach, former FDA commissioner, and a series of distinguished panels to address the current and future needs in introducing combination products.

Learn more and register here.

The many challenges facing medical device company leaders in pursuing combination products will be discussed including:

  • Product definition, market sizing and creating interest from investors in combination products
  • Incorporating pharmacology or biology devices with medical devices which can improve the performance of the device
  • Demonstrating to regulatory groups including the FDA and EU that a combination product is superior to what is currently available
  • Getting the FDA to classify combination products in a timely fashion
  • Getting a reimbursement that can justify the investment in a timely fashion
  • Clinical case studies

Who Should Attend:

  • Scientists, engineers, designers, product developers, R&D staff; in short—professionals and their technical teams who are immersed and/or preparing for the difficult task of working closely with diversely educated colleagues of other disciplines to complete a product project—and are looking for more insight
  • Physicians working with device companies who wish to further their appreciation of forthcoming products and the many considerations in bringing these to clinical use
  • Directors and new product marketing decision-makers who have faced these challenges will benefit from being exposed to other problems and solutions to add to their experiences
  • Service providers who join teams of multidiscipline (ad hoc or in full status) to be able to better appreciate the impediments to integration of a solution
  • Product developers who would value the opportunity to observe the case history of a successful process to conclusion

The Bioscience Network Presents:

“If you build it will they come?  Biotech 2.0”

Do I launch my biotech startup confident that its great idea will catch on and become successful according to the wisdom of the marketplace?  Do I start out with a fully conceived exit strategy and make all decisions based on that?

Funding biotech companies has probably never been harder than it is today.  The old model of the highly capitalized fully-integrated bricks and mortar biotech with a concept that raises millions dollars in venture funding on its way to going public is a thing of the past.

VC’s have less capital, capital is more expensive, M&A and option deals are often negotiated before investors will invest and IPO’s are no longer the likely exit.

Today, angels are more active and are investing in therapeutic companies, VC’s are looking for lower risk bigger opportunities, and big pharma are playing a larger role in exits and early stage fundings– so come listen to our panel of experts on the latest ideas on how you should set up, manage, partner and fund a new biotech venture today to best ensure “if you build it, they will come.”

Agenda

5:30-6:30pm: Cocktails, Hors d'oeuvres and Networking
6:30-8:00pm: Panel Discussion

Linde will provide an overview of the safe use of cryogenic liquids and equipment in the laboratory environment.

Training Agenda:
-  Provide an understanding of the associated hazards of cryogenic liquids
-  The proper use of common cryogenic containers
-  The safe handling and proper storage of cryogenic containers
-  The proper selection and use of personal protective equipment
-  Provide an understanding of the functionality of cryogenic containers.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THIS TRAINING

In addition to this complimentary safety training, Linde and Concoa would like to take the opportunity to introduce to the membership a unique and innovative product:

The revolutionary CryoWiz™ Cryogenic Liquid Nitrogen Switchover—the next generation of safe cryogenic liquid management.

The fully automatic CryoWiz delivers a continuous supply of liquid nitrogen to multiple cryogenic freezers with little to no variation in cryogen temperature or state.  Using a proprietary algorithm to pipe away hot gas and economize liquid use, the CryoWiz minimizes flash loss and maintains a user-specified temperature.  To ensure safe and reliable use, the unit may be integrated with an external oxygen monitor and features visual and audible alarms as well as optional remote alarms.

The CryoWiz offers both “keep full” and “on-demand” operation modes that may be customized to the specific cryogenic application. Building upon CONCOA’s I-LINK™ communications technology, the CryoWiz comes with an onboard web server which allows for remote monitoring and notifies users via e-mail in alarm conditions.  Additionally, the switchover boasts a built-in event log processor that logs up to 24,000 system events.

Ultimately the design of the Cryo wiz provides a level of safety, security and economy in the supply of liquid nitrogen to cryogenic freezers previously unavailable in an integrated manifold.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation to keep on file.

Lunch will be provided by MexiCali
